Footage Shows Policeman Assaulting Ex-girlfriend: Video
A police officer attached to the St Mary Police is currently facing legal woes after he was filmed assaulting his ex-girlfriend at his home in Enfield in the parish.
Footage now making rounds online shows the officer approaching and attacking the female after she entered his yard. As per reports, the officer, his ex-girlfriend and his presently pregnant girlfriend all got into an argument on the day prior to things getting physical.
“Guh through mi gate yuh think mi neva did a expect yuh… cum out,” the upset man shouted to the female as he approached with an object in hand, after reaching close to the female he put down the object and started attacking her with his hands.
She tried to fight back but she was not strong enough to land any severe blow.
The incident took place on Tuesday, August 20, the officer has since been arrested.
The matter is currently under investigation, as per the Jamaica Gleaner, the officer is scheduled to appear in the St Mary Parish Court on Thursday to answer to the charges laid against him.
The video clip has sparked outrage on Instagram, Dancehall artiste Razor B commented, “Come on officer .. I know you’re not perfect but you’re trained to de escalate situations like this .. you seems to be the aggressor. I don’t wish bad for anyone but this is not right and you should be treated as any other citizen of Jamaica who committed such acts against another person.”
Another person stated, “Suh instead a oonuh help har oonuh deh deh a record”
