Following the dramatic encounter in Jamaica’s parliament on Tuesday, March 19, the leader of the opposition Mark Golding continued his speech on Duke Street outside the parliament doors.
The heated exchange between Prime Minister Andrew Holness and opposition leader Mark Golding led to dramatic scenes, culminating in Holness and his JLP colleagues walking out of the chamber. However, Golding intended to finish his speech, which he did before leaving the area.
Before continuing his speech, Golding clarified why he criticized Juliet Holness for being the speaker of the house while married to the leader of the country. He went on to touch on the Usain Bolt and SSL saga, expressing that his understanding is that the DPP is dragging its feet with regard to the SSL issue.
He continued, asking for “change”, highlighting some of the different actions he would take if he’s put in charge of the country. “Things will be different under my watch!” he stated at one point during the outdoor speech.
