Morgan informed that he spoke with Prime Minister Andrew Holness who has “pledged that the Government will be helping with the funeral expenses”. Along with the Government’s help, there has also been additional help offered from “several funeral homes in the constituency” that reached out to Morgan.
Morgan mentioned that he is still devastated by the killing as she was someone he knew and worked with and added that he will also be offering help to “deal with various events that are surrounding” the burial of the family, such as getting “more counselling”.
Morgan explained that the deceased mother, who was a supporter of his, was dear to his heart. He shared that the female had contacted him weeks before the incident seeking help “to get an opportunity to take care of her four children”. Wright was attending distinction college to further her studies, and Morgan noted that he and his team “were in the process of trying to assist her” when the incident happened which “is a great tragedy”.
Explaining that the government and its agencies will also provide support for the family, Morgan subsequently shared his commitment to helping in any way possible as he believes that it is their duty to help the family and help the children.
