Iconic veteran dancehaller Robert Lee Malcolm who is more commonly known as Gully Bop was laid to rest on Sunday and most of the proceedings were captured on camera for the wider world to see.

Notably, Even though the name gully Bop is popular in dancehall, it was hard to find popular dancehall figures in the scanty crowd that turned up in support of the outspoken deejay. Earlier, Gully Bop’s estranged wife, Deborrah Nicholson-Malcolm stated that it’s most likely that she would not attend the funeral.

Gully Bop died at the age of 59, he rose to fame in 2014 for the hit single Body Specialist after many years of trying to get his big break in music under the name Country Man.

Here’s the funeral service and burial info, as per the earlier report, “FUNERAL FOR ROBERT LEE MALCOLM AKA GULLY BOP. SUNRISE 30 May 1964 SUNSET 31 OCTOBER 2023. GULLY BOP’S FUNERAL WILL BE HELD SUNDAY 14 JANUARY 2024, 11.00 a.m. AT THE RANNY WILLIAMS ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE,36 HOPE ROAD, KINGSTON, PROCEEDING TO THE FAMILY PLOT IN LAWRENCE TAVERN, KING WESTON.”

In 2023, Gully Bop appeared on numerous media pages where he disclosed that he was suffering from health issues and sought assistance from the public financially. But, little did the world know that he was also battling a terminal illness and only confided this diagnosis with a handful of people.

He was struggling with cancer for many years.
