Here’s Reggae Boyz’s Squad to Face Trinidad and Tobago

Thursday morning the Jamaica Football Federation revealed the players who have been selected to be in the squad for the island’s next two friendly matches. The squad contains primarily local-based players, a lot of new names and some returnees.

The Reggae Boyz being led by head coach Steve McClaren will play the first of the two games on February 6 inside the Montego Bay Sports Complex, and the second match will be on February 9 inside the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Goalkeepers are: Shequan Davis, Benjamin Williams, Joshua Grant and Jahmali Waite.

Defenders are: Richard King, Fitzroy Cummings, Gadil Irving, Christopher Ainsworth, Robino Gordon, Kyle Ming, Stephen Young, Jeovanni Laing, Sue-Lae McCalla and Maliek Howell.

Midfielders are: Jahshaun Anglin, Demario Phillips, Romeo Gurthrle, Dwayne Atkinson, Shamar Watson, Nathaniel Howe and Daniel Green.

Forwards include: Warner Brown, Kimani Arbouine, Ranaldo Biggs, Shaniel Thomas, Raheem Edwards, Kimani Bailey and Jamaro Calvin.

Many people on Instagram questioned the exclusion of ‘Nick Ellis’ who is a standout 20-year-old attacking midfielder who wears the number 10 jersey for Racing United in the Jamaica Premiere League.

One person commented, “One I was hoping Nick Ellis would’ve gotten a chance but this is a pretty decent squad based on the quality of our local players.”
