International Reggae artiste Jah Cure is said to be doing ‘Okay’, by his manager Nathan Cowan who has been taking care of his career affairs for over a year now.
The entertainer was arrested on October 2nd in Amsterdam, Netherlands after he allegedly stabbed Nicardo ‘Papa’ Blake, the leader of Roots Vibes promotion. As a result, the “Longing For” artiste has been remanded for 14 days, which might see him spending his birthday behind bars.
Even though Cowan spoke on the singer’s well being, it is being reported by Loop Jamaican news that he said he was not able to provide details concerning the progression of the case.
The same mentioned source also gave reports that the person representing Jamaicans in Europe, has directed all inquiries into the matter to Jamaica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign trade.
According to Ambo Symone Betton Nayo who spoke from the embassy of Jamaica and mission to the EU located in Brussels Belgium, all information regarding the matter would have been given to those in the department of the Ministry of Foreign affairs who deal with public affairs however, she did agree that she is aware of the singer’s arrest.
Persons from the Ministry of Foreign affairs who deal with Public relations were contacted for information about the matter, but that effort turned out to be futile since no details of the incident could be given out.
The Policy that the Jamaican Government worked with in previous times concerning persons being locked up abroad, is to usually allow the legal proceedings to operate on their own without giving out any information about the person detained.
The Netherlands also works similarly, however, their privacy laws are much more well pronounced which prevents them from releasing details of arrested persons.
