Jahshii And Skeng Trending Over Shenseea And Megan Thee Stallion

Female Dancehall artiste Shenseea recently released her new and controversial song entitled “Lick” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and already it has been getting some very mixed reviews with persons on both sides of the fence supporting and also bashing the song stating that it is beyond the entertainer’s usual standard of music.
What is also quite interesting is that since its release “Lick” has not been trending in Jamaica, not even in the top 10 regardless of the female rap superstar being on the song, while many local artistes have been on the charts doing well in the same timeframe.
Currently, the song has over 2.5 million views on Youtube however, that number has still not granted the track any trending justice, and it causes one to wonder if the song is thriving off negative publicity since many Jamaicans have expressed their dislike for the song, even in the comments section of the official music video.
In the number 1&2 position though where the trending music is concerned in Jamaica, are the young Dancehall moguls Jahshii with “Born Fighter” at 1.2 million and Skeng with “Life Changes” at 624 K, which means that those songs have much more positive ratings in the country than Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion’s track ” Lick”.
Since the track is already in the millions, there might also not be a chance for it to even reach trending anymore, only time will tell. This could make its musical lifespan run off more quickly in Jamaica since a track usually does exceptionally well in Jamaica after it has been trending for some time.
The good thing about the track though is that the song has a popular international artiste as a feature which means that it might not be trending in the Jamaican music market, but might just do so in many others.
Notabily the song is currently her number one streamed song on iTunes, the track was also at number one on the iTunes hip-hop chart based on a screenshot that Shenseea posted recently to social media.
