Jamaica now has 42 Deaths from Covid-19
Jamaica who initially looked to be under the control of Covid-19 is now seeing a deadly spike especially after the recent general election on September 3rd.
As announced on September 13, Jamaica has experienced two more deaths from the virus taking the total to 42 people who have lost their lives to the deadly virus.
To help stem the recent growth of the virus, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness announced during a press conference days after the election that new curfew policies and Covid-19 protocols are to be followed to help contain the virus which is now at the community transmission stage.
Mr. Holness stated that starting September 8 to September 23, the new curfew time will be from 8 pm to 5 am. He is also requesting that all persons over the age of 70 years stay home, only going out once per day for necessities if they need to.
Since march of 2020 Jamaica has recorded a total of 3,771 cases which are expected to double in the next few months based on the projection in the map below.
A total of 1,149 have recovered so far in Jamaica from Covid-19.
