JAMAICA Now has 728 COVID-19 Cases

There has been a record of seven new Covid-19 cases present on the island since Saturday evening. This number brings the amount of confirmed positive cases to 728 from the previous number of 721, with a recovery count of 569 people.

According to the news, the new cases include 3 males and 4 females. The affected are noted to be from the parishes of St. Elizabeth with one recorded case, the corporate area coming in with two, St. James with one and St. Catherine with three cases. It is to be noted according to the Ministry of Health that there are currently no critical cases however 139 cases are under close observation.

They explained that 236 of the cases came from the workplace in St. Catherine, 233 as a result of close contact with infected persons while 213 of the cases are recorded to be imported.

A recorded number of 26,002 tests has been said to be executed with 25,213 negative cases and since Saturday 728 positive cases. 61 samples are also pending confirmation The majority of the total positive cases were seen to be females based on confirmed results with 56.5 percent of those tested being recorded as women while a lesser 43.5 percent were males.

In pure numbers, this means that the confirmed cases were inclusive of 411 females and 317 males out of the total 728 cases.
