Jamaica On Code Orange Alert For Hurricane
Share
The U.S National Hurricane Center issued a code orange a little after 2 AM this morning and declared that the possibility of a hurricane or tropical storm developing east of or within the Caribbean will increase during the next five days.
Jamaicans are required to stay on high alert in the event that the island is affected by Hermine or Gaston.
In reply to someone commenting on there being “trans hurricanes!” another person replied, “If you’re being serious: There are two unnamed systems at sea. Depending on which one’s winds reach 39 mph first, it will get the name Gaston, the second one will be named Hermine. That’ll determine which storm Jamaica has to look out for. If you’re joking.”
Another commenter stated, “No need to worry Look Here,” before posting the link to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) government website.
