Jamaica vs. Mexico in WORLD CUP QUALIFIER Tonight
The Reggae Boyz are set to tackle Mexico tonight in the third and final round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers. Both Jamaica and Mexico advanced to the third round by being ranked in the top 5 in the region after the first two rounds.
The match will be played in Mexico who will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final loss to the USA. Jamaica on the other hand hasn’t played a game since their Gold Cup exit which was a 1-0 loss to the USA in the quarterfinal.
Kick-off time for the match tonight will be 9pm (JA).
As a part of the 35 member squad, the JFF has drawn for West Ham United’s Michail Antonio as well as other players from English to help lead them to victories in their upcoming three matches.
The game against Mexico promises to be an impressive and important showdown however, key players such as Antonio who just joined the squad, Liam Moore, Leon Bailey, Amarii Bell, Wesley Harding, Ravel Morrison, Daniel Johnson, Bobby Reid, Kevin Stewart, Jamal Lowe and Kemar Roofe will miss out on the match, due to the complicated circumstances surrounding them traveling to Meico.
The same goes for the match in Costa Rica as together with Mexico, they are both on the Uk’s red list. Regardless, the JFF has said that some of the players will still play in all 3 matches while some will only be utilized for the game being played at home against Panama.
Jamaica is currently ranked 48th in world FIFA rankings while Mexico is ranked at 9th and USA at 10th.
The Reggae Boyz have only qualified for the World Cup once, back in 1998.
