“While he may make gains on the battlefield, he will pay a continuing high price over the long run,” stated Biden. He further added that “He (Vladimir Putin) has no idea what’s coming”.

President Biden has been very clear that the US will not engage in the war between Russia and Ukraine; which means that US Military troops will not be aiding in the fight. However, in an effort to signify unity against Russia’s invasion, the US along with its Allies have tightened sanctions to “break” its economy.

In President Biden’s speech, one of the sanctions mentioned was to ban Russian flights from using American airspace. He advised that this order will be implemented by the U.S. Transportation Department Federal Aviation Administration, where the operation of all aircraft being used for the benefit of any Russian citizen will be suspended by the end of the day on Wednesday.

He further indicated plans to dismantle Russia’s military in the future as well as cutting off Russia’s access to technology, which is intended to weaken its economic strength and military for years to come.

Furthermore, the US government also went ahead to share intelligence on the operations of Russia with its Allies, which will vastly affect Russia’s financial system by plummeting the currency.
