Sumfest shared its full artiste lineup on Wednesday, May 29, and to the dismay of many, Bounty Killer will not be performing at the event.
Bounty Killer also shared a message on social media where he saluted all his fans and stated that unforeseen circumstances would prevent his presence at Sumfest 2024.
During an interview with Winford Williams on Onstage, the question was posed if the Dancehall veteran was officially booked for Sumfest to which Joe Bogdanovich replied, “He was not booked as a signature.”
Bogdanovich continued, “he wasn’t booked until we signed the deal and come up to an agreement and so we worked on an agreement for a while and things didn’t work out.”
Bounty and the Sumfest bigwig were unable to come to an agreement about what the entertainer would receive in payment for his performance at the event, thus the agreement was called off.
Continuing, Joe stated, “It’s a business and you know…everybody’s gotta make money and do the best they can and things just didn’t work out…we love him, he’s the general, the five star general.”
