Kartel and Co-accused Wishing to Be Home for Christmas

Vybz Kartel and his co-convicts are hoping they will spend Christmas at home. Bert Samuels the lawyer who represents Shawn Storm who is one of Kartel’s co-accused is saying his client is anxious and optimistic, he believes the verdict will be read before the year ends.

It has been 1 year and 6 months since the judges have been deliberating and he can’t wait to re-join his family.

The lawyer believes his client’s right to a fair trial was prejudiced by some factors. Evidence was allegedly contaminated and still admitted during the 17-week trial. A Blackberry message that was lifted from the deejay’s mobile phone was the chief contaminated evidence.

The trial for the killing of Clive ’Lizard’ Williams lasted for 65 days and Kartel and his co-accused Kahira Jones, Shawn Storm and Andre St John were found guilty in 2014.
