Although Kaylan Dowdie requires laser treatment to be able to speak, her body is slowly regaining strength, enabling her to move some of her limbs freely. The survivor was seen getting physiotherapy done in a new video posted to her mother’s YouTube channel.
The video, which was 14:38 long, served to inform the public of the teen’s current condition. Kaylan spoke several times during the video, but her soft, low voice was not audible.
Her mother, Veneshia Buckley, can be heard talking to the nurse, who checked Kaylan’s reflexes, ability to feel, and mobility. The nurse also assisted her in exercises to help her retain mobility in her hands and legs.
Judging from the video, Kaylan’s sense of touch was working quite well, her reflexes were working, and her limbs were moving. However, it was evident that she had difficulties moving her hand at a certain angle. During one of the exercises, Kaylan became tired and had to use force when moving her hand.
The video that was shared some hours ago told viewers, “KAYLAN PUSHING THROUGH. ONE DAY AT A TIME, SLOWLY BUT SURELY.” The video, which is close to reaching 500 views and has 115 likes, received well wishes from viewers.
One person wrote, “Kaylan you are awesome! Keep working Baby. You got this. Praise God! Praise God!” Another told her, “KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KAYLAN.”
