Leon Bailey Says Jamaican Fans Should Not be “Naive” and Asks for Patience While Talking on Upcoming Match vs. Trinidad – Watch Interview

On Tuesday, head coach of Jamaica, Heimir Hallgrimsson and player Leon Bailey spoke to journalists about the upcoming match on Wednesday versus Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago.

During the press conference, coach Hallgrimsson pointed out that the match against Trinidad and Tobago is one that the team has been looking forward to, highlighting that the Caribbean team beat the Reggae Boyz twice recently and they are yet to concede a goal having scored three goals in their last match versus St. Kitts which ended 3-0.

During the press conference, multiple hard-hitting questions were asked to coach Hallgrimsson and Leon Bailey was also questioned about his missed opportunities in the match vs the US.

It was suggested that Coach Hallgrimsson’s substitutions were somewhat “all over the place” and Leon was asked About a key pass that he did not make in the match versus the USA. Coach Hallgrimsson answered first, stating that the substitutions were forced in one way or the other.

Leon Bailey answered his question next, he outlined that, “we are still building… we need a little more time to be able to connect the dots a little better,” he stated. He continued stating that he will always give 110 percent on the field.

Another hard-hitting question was put at Bailey with regard to “pressure” on the field and his advice to Jamaican fans with regard to their high expectations. Bailey responded, outlining that he is not under pressure and Jamaicans should not be “naive” and judge only from his bad performances because the team is slowly getting better which will only happen with time.
