Leon Bailey Suspended From Reggae Boyz for Disciplinary Reasons

Reggae Boy Leon Bailey will not be joining his fellow Jamaican teammates when they face the United States next week, with the footballer suspended on disciplinary grounds.

The Reggae Boyz are scheduled to play against the US on March 21 in a Nations League semifinal at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced the 23-man squad for the upcoming match today, with Bailey noticeably absent.

The JFF went on to disclose that the Aston Villa player was suspended from this camp after breaking the curfew for their previous camp.

The player had reportedly missed the bus for their training camp after he did not sleep at their hotel.

Following Bailey’s suspension, 19-year-old striker Kaheem Dixon of Arnett Gardens F.C. has been added to the Reggae Boyz for their match against the US.

Reacting to the JFF’s squad announcement on Instagram and the exclusion of Bailey, some Jamaican football fans have been expressing disappointment and surprise.

“No bailey is a disgrace of a decision idc. And we only have 3 natural midfielders in that team. Ridiculous,” one fan wrote.
