Lt. Stitchie’s Health and GoFundMe Update

The GoFundMe that was launched days ago for Lieutenant Stitchie, born Cleveland Laing has read 12% of its intended goal of $100, 000 US. On the other hand, the latest update regarding the entertainer’s health is that he’s still in a coma.

The witty deejay who has deviated the latter part of his life to God suffered a severe brain haemorrhage that has left him unresponsive. The former Dancehall star, known for his hit song ‘Wear Yuh Size,’ is currently in a long-term care facility, requiring extensive rehabilitation care.

The news was made public last week by his wife Sophia Laing.

The GoFundMe was set up by Sophia, it has reached a total of $12,638 as of Saturday afternoon, after 274 donations. The top donor who remains anonymous donated $300.

One person who donated, stated, “I’m so sorry to read the sad news about Lt Stitchie. Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery and for him to get well soon x.”

Cleveland Laing who is labelled ‘The Dancehall Governor’ last updated his Instagram page back in October of 2023, he has been absent online since.

While it’s unclear when exactly the entertainer suffered the brain haemorrhage, as per reports from the Jamaica Observer on Saturday, September 7, Stitchie is still unresponsive.

In October of 2021, Lt. Stitchie received national honours, he received the Order of Distinction badge of honour from the Government of Jamaica along with fellow Dancehall entertainers Shabba Ranks, Yellowman, U-Roy, Shaggy and Sean Paul.
