Man Fatally Shot After Driving Off With Deputy Hanging Onto Him – Watch Video

A man was fatally shot in Florida after he drove off with a deputy hanging from his vehicle. The incident was captured on the deputy’s body camera, showing the suspect, Paul Smith, refusing to comply with the officer on March 16.

In the audio, the deputy can be heard repeatedly instructing the suspect to “step out of the car.”

The deputy seems to attempt to call for backup at around 5:28 p.m., and at that moment, Smith starts to drive away. The footage shows a struggle during which the deputy grabs hold of the suspect.

The footage later shows the deputy appearing to be in the back of the vehicle as he uses a taser on Smith in an attempt to get him to stop the car. However, the taser did not subdue Smith, and the deputy resorted to using his firearm.

The deputy first warns the 40-year-old man that he will be shot if he does not stop the car, but Smith responds by asking the deputy to exit the vehicle.

Moments later, the video shows Smith being shot by the deputy, resulting in him falling onto the front passenger’s seat.
