Man Gets Shot In Car And Loses Control, Killing Three Other People In Westmoreland

Hopeton Stewart, a 46-year-old farmer was shot and killed by unknown assailants while attending a grave-digging in a community called Jerusalem in the parish of Westmoreland. The shooting incident was followed by a series of other mishaps, whereby three persons died as a result.
According to reports, on the night of Sunday, July 10, Stewart was ambushed and shot by gunmen while seated inside his Toyota Voxy motor vehicle.
He reportedly tried to evade the attackers after getting shot, however, lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in three persons being killed and one hospitalized. The deceased are Roselyn Shearer-Grant, Denise Richards and an unidentified man.
A young woman identified as Camille, who is said to be the daughter of one of the deceased-Denise Richards, also sustained injuries and is hospitalized.
The police are investigating the matter.
