Man Seeks Advice After Finding Out His Christian Girlfriend is HIV-Positive
Many individuals often stumble upon love in the most unexpected places. For one gentleman, love unexpectedly blossomed with a woman who bravely battles a chronic, potentially life-threatening illness.
Her health condition was initially kept a secret, only being revealed after they had traversed the initial stages of getting acquainted.
When she finally mustered the courage to tell him that she tested positive for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) a long time ago, he was dumbstruck.
“It took her about three weeks to tell me what it was… I was shocked and did not want her to even touch me. She said she contracted AIDS, but she is in good physical health,” the man wrote in a letter to Dear Pastor.
Recounting the conversation, the man expressed that he was speechless upon hearing her secret because he had never dated an AIDS-positive person. The pair have never had sex despite dating for about a year, but he has been seeking extensive advice.
First, he sought the advice of a medical practitioner, who informed him that “any individual with AIDS can live a normal life.” The anonymous writer continued to seek guidance by reaching out to the popular pastor’s column and professing his deep affection for his girlfriend.
In his heartfelt letter, he portrays her as a” “lovely lady” who became a Christian and “avoided men because she does not know who to trust.”
“I have come to love this girl so much. We have never had sex or anything like that. I don’t want to do anything stupid…” the letter read, expressing his need to approach the matter carefully.
Another one of his needs is to father at least one child in the future because he currently does not have any, and this apparently adds to his concerns.
