Masicka has been argued to be one of the best in dancehall currently, but the debate is still unsettled. The Top Stricker artiste even expressed feeling underrated during his last Reggae Sumfest performance when he, according to many fans, stole the show.

Today, the Moments singer is seemingly showing everyone who wears the crown in dancehall in his most recent post. Masicka, born Javaun Fearon, shared a photo online that depicts him wearing a white Fendi shirt, white pants, large chains, and a pair of Balenciaga eyewear.

Notably, the Instagram post only had a crown in the caption, and within a few hours of sharing, the post amassed over 21,697 likes with many praises from fans, some of whom hailed him as a “Living Legend,” the “Worlds Greatest,” and a “King.”

Fans were also begging him to drop his new album, which the artiste has been promoting online. While keeping his fans salivating for the release, the artiste seemingly revealed that he has a new music video coming soon based on his post two days ago.

The photo appears to be from a music video shoot, and he wrote the words “Sure ting 🎶 newnew” in the caption.

The Umbrella deejay, who has proclaimed himself king in past songs, spoke out about not being credited for his work in 2022. The 29-year-old declared himself to be “di baddest artiste inna Jamaica” and said people have been overlooking his ability to create “hits after hits.”

Masicka, who is slated to perform at the 2023 staging of Reggae Sumfest, released a single entitled King Inna Earth in 2019. He has another song called King, housed on his debut album 438, which was released on December 3, 2021. The album is arguably the best album in dancehall in the past ten years.

The 16-track album, independently distributed by Genasyde/1Syde Records, amassed over 100 million streams across all platforms, according to DancehallMag, and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The album stayed in the Top 10 chart for seven weeks, following Shenseea’s record of spending nine weeks on the chart with her album and Koffee’s record of spending 13 weeks.

During the first week of its release, 2,864 units (733 copies) were sold, and after three weeks, 438 sold and streamed 5,164 equivalent album units in the United States. Masicka received Billboard plaques in April 2022 for the album that featured collaborations from Popcaan, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, and Dexta Daps.

Notably, Vybz Kartel was the most recent to publicly declare himself as King of dancehall as shown on his Instagram page, while Beenie Man argues that he is still the King because the dancehall King can not be locked up in prison.
