Mavado Caught “Severe” Flu in the UK

Dancehall artiste Mavado who was scheduled to perform at multiple shows in the UK had to “reschedule” his upcoming July 27 show at the Motorpoint Arena due to a health issue that caused him to be bedridden for days.

On Thursday, Mavado took to social media with a short statement, saying “My UK fans sorry for the change of plan I have no choice. Gully Gad will be back real soon.”

While Mavado did not give details for the change of plan, his protege Jay-A shared a graphic on Instagram that gave more details about why Mavado will be unavailable and why the show will be pushed back to September.

Apart of the post states that, “After the historic show last Saturday in London, I was hit with a severe bout of flu. I have been bed-ridden all week and i had to seek medical attention. I am over the worst of it and recovering.”

It continues, “But on the advice of doctors, I am unable to perform this Saturday. The earliest the arena could accommodate us is 27th September 2024. I want to thank you for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown me during the 4 weeks that I’ve been here.”

It concluded with the words, “We’ve always had a special bond, UK a mi place. A home away from home! I’m returning overseas to recuperate and ready for upcoming shows. I shall see you all in September when we will create more history together.”
