Albert Reid, a man from the Roehampton community in St.James, is mourning the loss of his daughter Toni-ann after she was killed alongside her boyfriend in an attack in the community by gunmen early this morning.
According to Reid who spoke to the Jamaica Gleaner about the matter, he had been looking for his daughter since last year as she reportedly ran away from home, when he spoke to her about the man alleged to be her boyfriend.
The man has been identified as 25-year-old Oshane Spence otherwise known as ‘Private’. Toni-ann was only 15.
The father of the deceased girl said he even reported the matter to the Police several times however, they were still unable to find her which he attributed to her regular changing of appearance which happened due to bleaching.
Reid said he found out that his daughter was found dead when his girlfriend called him and informed him of the incident, which led him to check out the scene and realized that it was his daughter that was killed.
According to the father, the last time he had spoken to her was over the Christmas holiday when she promised him she would come home, however she did not do that and was not seen until her father saw her deceased body lying next to the young man’s own.
Reid told the Jamaica Gleaner that Toni-ann’s mother ran away leaving her and two of her siblings with him when they were just children, with him having to take the responsibility of sending them to school and even grooming them.
Steeped in sadness the depressed father spoke in full grief for his daughter as he reverberated that he warned her to stay away from the young man, as he was alleged to be involved in wrongdoings.
