Mother and Daughter Charged with Murder Following 23YO Man’s Death in St. Elizabeth

Following a fatal altercation in the Roses Valley District of St. Elizabeth on April 1, reports on Friday detail that Amanda Stewart, aged 24, and her mother, Lisa Muir, aged 43, are now in police custody.

The incident resulted in the death of 23-year-old farmer Francois Vassell, who was involved in a dispute with his spouse, Stewart.

The disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation around 2:45 a.m., during which Muir intervened with a machete.

As reported by The Jamaica Star, Vassell suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually died from his wounds.

Authorities are currently scheduling court appearances for Stewart and Muir.
