Veteran Reggae/Dancehall artiste Mr. Vegas, in an effort to bury the ‘hatchet’, addressed the controversy surrounding his 1999 classic Hot Gyal Today, which featured international superstar Sean Paul. According to Mr. Vegas, he initially refused to be a part of the track because producer Flabba’s payment offer was $10,000 less than what he offered to Sean Paul.

Mr. Vegas recently took to the internet to shine clarity on his decision not to record the track with Flabba after feeling disrespected by the producer’s offer and motive.

Following the producer’s refusal to offer Vegas the same amount he was offering to Sean Paul, Vegas said that was when he picked up that Flabba did not really want to record him, but rather Sean Paul, hence the reason he left the studio without voicing the song.

However, the story did have a happy ending as Vegas and Sean Paul linked up afterward and recorded the song with a different producer, Steely, who said it was the ‘baddest’ song after hearing just Vegas’ part, and as the saying states, the rest was history.
