Samual Waldo, the suspect in the Gruesome murder of his 77-year-old uncle Derrick ‘Reds’ Lindsay, has been apprehended by the police in Kencot, St.Andrew, on Tuesday, June 28, weeks after the police urged Waldo to turn himself in.
Lindsay went missing earlier this month on Saturday, June 4, from the Brooks Level, Stony Hill house that both men shared in St.Andrew.
A search Quickly started for the elderly man, but it ended horrifically two days later when his remains were discovered in bushes in Cavaliers, St. Andrew. Waldo was the police’s main suspect in the murder and their investigations led them to his and Lindsay’s house in Stony Hill, where bloodstains were discovered and two suitcases missing.
Lorna Lindsay, Derrick Lindsay’s daughter, later shared details of the grisly murder with the press. According to Ms Lindsay, her father was killed at his home in Brooks Level, Stony Hill, his body dismembered and stuffed in two suitcases then transported by taxi and dumped in the bushy woodlands of Cavelier around five miles away from the house.
The taxi driver, who according to reports was chartered by Waldo, took the police to the location in Cavaliers where he dropped off Waldo with the suitcases and this led to the search party’s discovery of Derrick Lindsay’s remains on Monday, June 6, at around 11 am.
