No Fireworks on the Waterfront this year

One of Jamaica’s most popular events on a yearly basis, Fireworks on the Waterfront will be postponed according to the event organizers Urban Development Corporation (UDC), who pins the no show verdict on the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Fireworks on the waterfront is usually attended by both the young and the older people of the island and is especially loved by Kingston natives, for a lot of kids, it’s their first major attended event.

Even though the featured presentation of the night is the fireworks show, the event is also attended or watched live on TV for the many top reggae and dancehall artistes who perform there yearly.

The new Year eve event usually supports a lot of vendors from the Downtown Kingston area.

In 2019 the annual event pulled out a record-setting 300,000 patrons making it arguably the number one event on Jamaicans’ calendar.
