The Coroner’s Court ruled Tuesday morning that the death of controversial clergyman Kevin Smith, head of Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries, was a suicide. This verdict was delivered following a thorough investigation into the events surrounding his death.
Smith and police constable Orlando Irons lost their lives in a crash on the Linstead Bypass in St. Catherine on October 25, 2021. Constables Chevon Gordon and Ryan Harrison, who were also in the vehicle, testified during the Coroner’s Inquest in February.
They recounted a series of bizarre events, including Smith’s ominous declaration that they would not make it to Kingston and that he was going to die. As per reports from RJR, The court concluded that Smith’s dangerous and unlawful actions directly caused the fatal crash.
Smith reportedly grabbed the left shoulder of the driver, resulting in the accident that claimed both his and Constable Irons’ lives. The court also found that the two surviving officers were not negligent in their duties.

This ruling comes after the police stormed Smith’s Montego Bay-based church on October 17, 2021, following alarming reports of ritual killings within the congregation. The investigation into these events continues, with Andre Ruddock, accused of murdering congregants Taneka Gardener and Michael Brown, still before the court.
Following the arrest of the controversial Pathways Church leader back in 2021, a video surfaced online of Smith having a fun moment with offers while at the police station where he was the center of attention.
