Prime Minister Andrew Holness expresses his joy of visiting and reasoning with the man he saw on his television screen as a youngster growing up in Jamaica. The man famously known as ‘Oney’ by many Jamaicans for his role in the Jamaican hit movie Third World Cop, whose real name is Carl Bradshaw OD, spends what looks to be a memorable evening with the man in charge of the country.

Holness revealed how the unforgettable evening transpired as they both discussed the proposed plans by the government to recognise Portmore as the 15th parish on the Island and future developments for the destination, affectionately called the Sunshine City by locals. The PM also seemingly dragged the actor’s memory as they recounted what Portmore was like in the 50s.

He captured his time with the actor, whom he refers to as a living legend, via pictures which he shared on his Instagram, Holness captioned the post, ” Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Carl Bradshaw, where we delved into conversations about Portmore in the 50s and the future of the soon-to-be parish.”

He continued, “Growing up watching his iconic performances in Smile Orange, Third World Cop, and Countryman left a lasting impression. Meeting Carl Bradshaw, a living legend, was a truly distinct honour.”

The celebrated Kingstonian actor and film producer Carl Bradshaw is considered by Wikipedia to be Jamaica’s most renowned actor and “arguably Jamaica’s premier actor.” Some of the films he did in his heydays are The Harder They Come, Smile Orange, Dancehall Queen, Club Paradise, Goldeneye, Countryman and The Mighty Quinn, to mention a few.
