In the wake of this week’s Local Government Election and the confusion about who was the winning party, Prime Minister Andrew Holness has declared that the JLP is the winner and followed up by thanking his many supporters, and the supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) for turning out to vote.
The Prime Minister sent out a video message via his social media with a message of thanks and a short statement that read “I thank you sincerely for your support. Assure you of our commitment to work even harder in your interest, and encourage you to seek truth and be very wary of those who are authors of confusion.”

Along with thanking the voters, Holness also seemed to be issuing a warning for everyone to stay vigilant and not be easily led astray.
In the video, he also thanks the winning MPs (Minister of Parliament) by stating, “Let me congratulate all of you who have won and will be sworn in very soon to take over the seven municipal corporations that the Jamaica Labour Party has won which means that we have won the local government elections.”
