Reports state that following an escalated domestic dispute between a police constable and his wife, one party was left dead and another in the hospital in critical condition.
Allegedly, at around 6:40 PM at their shared home in Sommerset, Manchester, on Monday, May 29, the police constable, identified as Damien Blair, got into an argument with his wife that turned into a physical confrontation. It was stated that during the incident Blair was shot by his wife, suffering several gunshot wounds from his own service pistol.
Neighbours who heard loud noises coming from the house called the police and when they arrived on the scene, both Blair and his wife were wounded, Blair from gunshot wounds, and his wife who was found in a pool of blood, suffering from what seemed to be multiple stab wounds.
They were both rushed to the hospital but Blair was pronounced dead and his wife was admitted in critical condition. Blair’s wife is being guarded by police in the hospital.
According to one of the deceased constable’s colleagues, Blair marks the third officer lost over the course of the last two to three years from the same department. “It is so sad that this had to be the end … I wish this wasn’t the end,” he said. Another mentioned that Blair, now a former member of the patrol division from the Mandeville Police Station, was assigned there for around 25 years.
