Portland Woman Found Dead With Stab Wounds Following House Fire

The Police are now investigating what they believe to have been a murder in the community of Forty acres, Orange Bay, Portland after a woman’s body was found with apparent stab wounds in a partially burned condition.

According to the reports from the Portland Police, residents saw the house of the 54-year-old woman engulfed in flames early this morning, then they proceeded immediately to contact Firefighters who rushed to the house and extinguished the fire.

Upon the dissipation of the flames, the woman’s body was found after which the Police went in and investigated the scene.

During their inspection of the woman’s body, they found that she was partially burnt, carrying wounds to the chest and back that looked as if they were caused by stabs, which led them to believe she had been murdered.

If she is indeed a victim of murder, her death now brings the number of persons murdered in the parish to 9 since the start of the year.

Residents of the Forty Acres community described the woman to be peaceful and was shocked to hear of the incident.
