A man from Portmore has reportedly killed his son, whom he mistakenly took for a thief on Wednesday morning. The police reported that the 15-year-old boy was shot by his father at their Hellshire home in Portmore, St Catherine.
The teen, who is a Wolmer’s Boys’ High School student, was allegedly mistaken for a robber trying to get into the house after his father was told there was a break-in.
According to reports, the man’s wife woke him up around 3:13 a.m., saying that someone was breaking into their home, located in the Cave Hill community. Allegedly, the man instantly jumped up and saw a shadow.
Mistaking the individual’s identity for a thief, he discharged his gun at the shadow. Later, the distressed father learned that it was his son.
