Prime Minister Holness To Take Vaccine Today

Week one of the vaccine rollout in Jamaica saw the JDF members and healthcare workers get their jabs of the Medicine, along with cabinet members, ministers and other parliamentarians over the age of 60 however, Prime Minister Andrew Holness is yet to get his dose.

Citizens of Jamaica have been outpouring their cries for the leader of the Government alongside his fellow politician, Christopher Tufton to take the vaccinee, so they can have a confidence boost about getting it.

Tufton eventually got his first dose on Friday, and Prime Minister Holness has declared that he will be getting his first shot on Monday.

He will be administered the Astra Zeneca vaccine and will need to take a second dose some other time, for the process to be completed.

According to the Prime Minister, he did not decide on getting vaccinated as yet due to him not wanting the “wrong signal” to go out, further stating that the medicine at this time is being prioritised for those who need it.

Going into his first jab, Minister Holness says that order has to be established where the vaccine is concerned, further stating that as another reason why he held out for so long without taking it.
