Dancehall artiste, Prince Swanny, was among 3 persons charged for the possession of marijuana for trafficking.
The police caught up with the men after a Black Mercedes Benz, being driven by the “Trinibad” artiste was stopped on Beetham Highway in Trinidad.
The car was subsequently searched, and a portion of 1.5 kilos of compressed Ganja was found, an amount much more than the allowed amount per adult in the country since the decriminalization of small amounts of the plant in 2019.
“Swan Dan”, whose real name is Taryl Swan along with the two other men that included an 18-year-old was then arrested, and taken to court on October 28 where they were all granted bail for the trafficking charges.
This was not the first time the 23-year-old “First Class flight” artiste, had marijuana issues with the police as he was found with amounts of it in 2019 after an event.
Trinidad and Tobago now allow each adult to have up to 4 plants which are right about 30 grams. The amount Prince Swanny was caught with was more than that.
