Reggae Boy Kaheim Dixon Nets 4 Goals in Charlton U21’s Crushing 9-2 Victory vs. Wingate & Finchley: Videos
Reggae Boy Kaheim Dixon pushed his team, Charlton Athletic, to a crushing victory over Wingate & Finchley on Tuesday, with the south-east London football club walking away with a stunning 9-2 win.
Charlton faced off with Windgate at the Maurice Rebak Stadium for their last match of the third round of the London Senior Cup. Dixon’s teammate Kai Enslin opened the scoring for Charlton in the 5th minute of the match and went on to score again in the 57 after Nathan Asiimwe scored in the 27th.
Dixon, who signed with Charlton over the summer, shone in the second half of the match, netting his first goal for the night in the 67th minute. A well-placed close-range bicycle kick from the 20-year-old saw him score his second goal for the night in the 75th minute.
Dixon’s third goal, which he later described as his favourite, came shortly after in minute 77. The forward rounded the keeper to strike the ball into an empty net.
Dixon went on to score his fourth goal for the night two minutes into stoppage time. With Charlton’s Jacob Safa and Ibrahim Fullah also securing goals, the club progressed to the fourth round of the London Senior Cup with the win over Windgate & Finchley.
Despite netting four goals for the night, Dixon expressed that Tuesday’s match was not his best during a post-match interview.
“It wasn’t my best performance. I still have room where I should be improving, and I’ll be fixing that during the training… The boys give their all. It’s a professional game and they give a professional performance and that’s all that matters” Dixon said.
After praising his Charlton U21 teammates, Dixon also expressed eagerness to seize the opportunity if he is called up for the club’s first team.
“I’m really excited. I’ll be waiting my turn, and once it’s my time, I’ll take it.” Dixon stated.
