‘Rev’ Faces Charges For Illegal Importation Of 21 Guns
On the heels of the Prime Minister’s declaration to harshly punish anyone who deals in the possession and importation of illegal firearms, The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has charged one Godfrey Martin, also known by the moniker ‘Rev’, who is reportedly the architect controlling the recent importation of 21 illegal guns into Jamaica.
On Friday, March 4, 2022, members of the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) found and took possession of eighteen handguns, a large cache of ammunition, and Three rifles.
Martin is a 51-year-old businessman who hails from Santa Cruz, Saint Elizabeth. He was charged with conspiracy to illegally import ammunition and conspiracy to illegally import firearms.
According to reports made by the police, the businessman was arrested on Sunday, August 7 in Ocho Rios, St. Ann in the wake of concentrated investigations (inclusive of multiple lines of questioning) by detectives tied to the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch.
Martin is scheduled to go before the Gun Court on Friday, September 16.
