Buju Banton recently performed on stage at the KICC in Nairobi, Kenya. He said he got the energy to produce music over the years because he sings from a clean heart with pure thoughts and still sees music as a creative force that empowers people, as there is a symbiotic relationship between the artiste and the music.

He also said it is the blessings, of the most-high Jah.

His next album will be coming out in April this year it will be called “Upside Down” according to sources. It will sort out the lives of people he says.

He gives thanks for the people who recognize his work because he works hard to put out his music, but he wants to see his music help to uplift his people and make them feel fulfilled because of his songs. He said this when he was asked about winning the Grammy.

Buju Banton whose given name is Mark Myrie spoke about the great magical feeling, an intense spiritual feeling and it is clear, that he also inspires the Africans when he performs there too.

He sang Peter Tosh’s song “Mama Africa” at the event.

He said he was in Africa the last time in Ghana and he was feeling good about the warm welcome the people gave him.

He encourages the young artistes to love the music and the music will love them. If the music they do cannot be played where their children are, they should check themselves.

His career has been growing for 25-30 years and now he has so many songs he has done more than 10 albums, he is unable to do them all at an event.
