Sandals Resort Jamaica To Establish Tourism And Hospitality University

Sandals is officially recognized as one of the World’s best luxury all-inclusive companies and has recently been featured on the Forbes website, for its vision of creating a University that specializes in tourism and hospitality.
As a usual move, tourists would usually go through the Sandals Foundation, give back to schools, and even visit to read books to the children and even give out supplies, so in terms of education organization, it has been very much involved.
As a fresh educational step, however, Sandals through their chairman Adam Stewart has decided to carry on the lifelong dream of his father Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, who always dreamed of establishing an international school of hospitality and tourism.
In the effort of the move, the top-tier Jamaican resort company has signed a memorandum with Florida International University, and the University of the West Indies in hopes of establishing the hospitality and tourism school. The initiative will also mark the establishment of the first institution dedicated specially to the field and is expected to open its doors online to students by the fall of 2022.
The brand new Hospitality and Tourism school according to Forbes.com, which published some of the information concerning the institution in an article, will be facilitating Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
According to Adam Stewart, the move would have been a sure dream come true for his father which he stated would have loved the idea since he was always one to promote on the job training and real-life training. Learning is what the chairman of the organization says will be its driving force and as such will make the partnership have much meaning.
The new school will have its location on the Western Jamaica University of the West Indies campus and its organizers are looking to have the facility for the institution finished by 2023.
