American female sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson has had a love-hate relationship with Jamaica over the years, however, since 2023 things have been on the brighter side. on Saturday, the reigning World Champion was present at the National Stadium in Kingston to watch the Jamaica Athletics Invitational (JAI).
Amidst all the newsworthy reports of the night, Richardson, the athlete who soared to the headlines after running the 6th fastest time over the 100m distance in history turned out to be one of the highlights of the night as many surprised Jamaican fans got a chance to take pictures with her.
“Look who’s in the stands,” stated Track Mom on X as she shared a picture taken of the American track star. Another person who reshared the photo commented, “I want Americans to know that we don’t hate Sha’Carri Richardson.”
The statement continued, “We are a competitive set of people and we step aggressively for ours when they go on the track. If Sha’Carri was hated by Jamaicans, she wouldn’t be in Jamaica at our National Stadium watching our track meet.”
