Richardson stepped up in 2021 as one of the female sprinters to look out for when she ran a time of 10.71 as a 21-year-old to register the 6th fastest 100m time ever by a woman, but her running prowess was shortlived after she was tested positive for marijuana which resulted in her getting a one month ban which seemed to have significantly affected her speed and saw her ending the season with a time of 11.19.
