Shenseea Hits 7 Million Followers on Instagram: Third Most Followed Jamaican on the Gram
Shenseea, the third most followed Jamaican on Instagram, has officially reeled in 7 million followers on the network. Shenseea released her first single, Jiggle Jiggle, in 2016 at just 19 years old. Eight years later, the artiste is now one of the youngest and most recognisable faces in Dancehall internationally.
Her audience has grown astronomically since she transitioned from one of her manager Romeich Major’s promotion girls to a full-time singer. As her audience continues to grow, the Blessed singer has become one of the most loved Jamaicans on Instagram, with most of her posts racking millions of views.
The artiste’s 7 million followers page on the social media platform is behind legendary musician Bob Marley’s 8.9 million followers and former sprinter Usain Bolt’s 13.8 million followers. Shenseea’s latest milestone was celebrated by Romeich, who shared the stats on his Instagram page on Saturday.
“You have to celebrate every win!! 7mil followers is a milestone in this social media living world!!! The most popular living Jamaican artiste on @instagram #shenyeng,” Romeich wrote.
Fans of Shenseea extended congrats and praise in the comment section, with one expressing her desire for her album sales to now reflect her large following.
“Great happy for now let’s turn it into some album sales,” the fan wrote.
Romeich responded and said that unfortunately, most fans are choosing streaming over supporting an artiste by buying their music.
“Wish we could but most peeps only streaming they aint buying,” Romeich stated.
Shenseea currently has over 3 million monthly streamers on streaming platform Spotify.
