Shenseea Set To Perform At New York City Pride Island
New York City Pride announced that Dancehall princess Shenseea is confirmed to perform at Pride Island, the premier three-day music festival experience of Pride Weekend that celebrates members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Governors Island’s Play Lawn on June 24, 25, and 26.
In a post shared on @nycpride’s Instagram page, Shenseea’s impressive rise in the music industry within a five-year period was highly commended. Some of the words that were used to describe the young Jamaican entertainer were “one of the genres most sought-after artists” while also highlighting her being the first person in Dancehall to be signed to the acclaimed record label called Interscope Records.
It also highlighted her several collaborations done with some top international artistes such as Kanye West, Christina Aguilera, and Young Thug amongst many others.
To headline the event “Drag Island”, stars Mo Heart and Kylie Sonique Love, who were both featured on RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars will be making an appearance on June 24.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, June 25, American rapper Lil’ Kim will be headlining the second day along with performances from Shenseea, Netta, Raye, and Papi Juice.
