Skeng to Feature Shenseea in New Single on “Beast Of The Era” EP
With his debut EP, Beast Of The Era, set to drop in the next two days, dancehall artiste Skeng has released the track list for the upcoming project, surprising many with an unexpected collab with Shenseea.
Skeng announced the mini album in September and officially released the track list on his Instagram page on Tuesday. The EP will be released on Friday, November 4, and will see the deejay working with some of dancehall’s most notable producers. The project was executively produced by Skeng along with Geejam Recordings; the artiste and his producers, John Coop and Shacko Di Truth signed with Geejam Music earlier this year.
Beast Of The Era will feature six new singles. Two of the songs, Thug Life and It’s True, were produced by the founder of Head Concussion Records, Rvssian. It’s True will find Shenseea and Skeng working side by side on their first collaboration, and the singjay’s more soothing vocals will no doubt make for an interesting pairing with Skeng’s more gritty style. Shenseea has been flexing her musical abilities of late, collaborating with artistes across multiple genres both locally and internationally. She released her first collaboration, Rain, with Skillibeng over the summer and recently appeared on Calvin Harris’s Obsessed with Charlie Puth.
Skeng will also feature artiste Jigsta on the EP’s fifth track, Eeddiattt. The single was co-produced by Kevon Shaw, Droptop Records, and Emelio Lynch, who worked with Skeng on his global hit Likkle Miss. On the tracks Highway, New Era, and Demons Awake, the Protocol deejay will once again be teaming up with longtime collaborators Di Truth and John Coop.
