Monday night, inside the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston/St. Andrew, the Sunshine Girls triumphed over the England Vitality Roses 50-49 in the third match of the Vitality Netball Horizon Series.
With a narrow lead of 27-23 at halftime, Jamaica faced a fierce comeback from the Roses in the third quarter.
The intense final moments saw both teams tied at 49-49, with just seconds remaining on the clock. In a heart-stopping finish, Jamaica’s Shanice Beckford delivered a stunning buzzer-beater to seal the victory, much to the delight of the home crowd.
