Sunshine Girls Lost 54-57 To Australia In Semi-Final Action

Jamaica’s national netball team, the Sunshine Girls were seemingly following in the footsteps and garnering confidence from the Reggae Girlz’ performance in the World Cup in their historic quest for a first-ever international netball title.
The Sunshine Girls faced off against the powerhouse team of Australia, but their light shone brightly against the formidable opposition matching them shot for shot. Right from the beginning, the encounter was expected to be a closely contested affair, as both teams exchanged the lead on multiple occasions.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Jamaica showed their resilience as they came storming back to establish a three-point lead to put pressure on the Australian Diamonds.
Australia reacted to Jamaica’s lead by rallying back late in the fourth quarter to take back the lead capitalizing on numerous mistakes by the Sunshine Girls. From that point, Australia took full control of the game as they won the close encounter 57-54 to book their spot in the final.
Unfortunately, Jamaica has once again failed at the crucial stages of an international netball tournament after showing signs that they could go all the way.
