Suspect In Murder Of St. Elizabeth Chinese Store Couple Identified By Police

One of 3 suspected men in the killing of a Chinese couple in the parish of St. Elizabeth has been identified by Police in the parish, while investigations continue to unravel the identity of the other men involved in the incident.
The man identified by the authorities as a suspect in the killing is Tommy Thompson, from the Cameron Hill District in Maggotty, St. Elizabeth and he is alleged to be one of the men that was captured on a CCTV camera, carrying out a robbery at the Jojo supermarket owned by the couple which resulted in the shooting death of the Chinese couple.
The incident took place in December of 2021, when the gunmen entered the supermarket under the disguise of customers sometime before 8 pm, then proceeded to rob and kill the Chinese owners of the business who have been identified as 53-year-old Shiyun Shu and his partner 48-year-old Haikong Wan from the District of Bellevue in the Parish.
Earlier this week, popular YouTube channel “On The Spot News Media” released pictures of three young men alleged to be the suspects in the murder of the Chinese couple however, only Thompson from the 3 persons highlighted to have a connection to the killing has been officially identified by the Police.
According to the Jamaica Observer who first published the story on the couple’s murder, residents of the community of Bellevue have communicated to them that the Supermarket has been robbed at least 3 times in its almost 8 years of operation.
The Police have also suggested that the double murder could have also been a contracted hit which has caused them to even be digging deeper with their investigations, while also yearning for anyone in the public with information that could help to reach out to them immediately.
