After much back and forth online, Teejay and Valiant kick off the first male dancehall lyrical war of 2024 with Teejay releasing ‘Chapter 1’ the first official diss song of the new clash.
What Caused The War?
Notably, Valiant released ‘Beer & Salt’ three months ago in which he called out artistes for linking his friend Dj Mac to find a “hit song”. With the fact that Teejay was not so hot prior to working with Dj Mac to produce ‘Drift’ hit song, Teejay and the dancehall community believes Valiant was taking a subliminal shot at the Uptop Boss.
Teejay brougth up the line from the song in his recent interview which sparked reactions from Valiant online. Following the interview, both artistes went back and forth in their Instagram stories before ultimately previewing a diss track for each other.
Teejay went live prior to releasing his diss track to detail some of the issues he has been going through with his fellow dancehall colleagues inluding producer Damage Music.
Accordsing to Teejay, his song ‘Drift’ started the feud, he proceeded to take shots at Valiant and his DJ. Roemich also picked up shots from the lyrical diss as Teejay called out the “fat managa bwoy”.
Some lyrics, “Bex unuh bex, god know a drift cause all a dis… Dawk fi days… could somebody please warn suck p***y valiant yuh and yo selecta fren jus a copy man, doh diss Teejay likkle youth mi wi shot the hat offa yo head weh yo catch e pan.”
Released early Friday morning on Youtube, ‘Chapter 1’ is expected to dominate the trending chart in coming days along with Valiant’s expected diss-track that was previewed on Instagram Thursday night.
