Four teen boys from Sweden have been accused of killing a 26-year-old taxi driver who allegedly raped their 16-year-old sister when she was 14 years old.
According to reports, the authorities did not follow up on the report of the alleged rape, which was made by the girl in February 2022. The girl’s brothers, aged between 16 and 18, allegedly told multiple of their friends that they were going to kill a rapist.
Swedish prosecutors accused the girl of luring the driver into the forest via a text message in March. She reportedly told the deceased to meet her in a car park near a nature reserve and to bring a bottle of vodka.
Her brothers allegedly strangled the man after he reached the location and went on to hang him with a noose. A search was launched for the missing man, whom the police did not discover until several weeks after the murder.
DNA belonging to the defendants was found on the noose and in the man’s car. Other evidence connecting the siblings to the driver’s murder were records of funds transferred from his account to theirs, as well as items belonging to the deceased that were reportedly found in their home.
While the brothers have maintained their innocence, their sister said she believed the driver would have been beaten up and confessed to luring him to the forest.
